Sister Cities International Exchange

From 17th - 26th September 2011, Interfaith Scotland hosted 19 delegates from the Interfaith Centre of New York (ICNY) and the UNESCO Centre of Catalonia's Department for Interreligious Dialogue in Barcelona. The delegates visited a number of voluntary and statutory agencies and places of worship across Scotland.

The ambitious three year 'Sister Cities' exchange programme was launched by ICNY in 2009. The aim of the programme was for delegates from three cities to meet and share good practice in interfaith initiatives taking place in their respective cities and to witness these first hand. Glasgow was chosen from a number of European cities to participate in this programme in recognition of the extensive interfaith work being undertaken there. Eight Glasgow delegates attended a programme in New York in 2009 and in Barcelona in 2010.

Members of the Interfaith Centre of New York added fascinating reflections about their perceptions of interfaith relations in Scotland in the form of blogs on their website: www.interfaithcenter.org. Click on the links below for each blog.
